An ordinary restaurant located in Burton city centre. Ample parking options We can get our own drinks before 11pm. Cost very reasonable. On the downside the portion size is small for starter with loads of salad. Dishes are a bit sweet and does not have an authentic Indian touch. And some curry is just 🔥 🥵
I want to highlight a very disappointing and upsetting experience I’ve had with a restaurant (Apne India cuisine-DE14 1EF). As a visually impaired person, I rely on my Guide Dog for independence, mobility, and safety. I was refused access to this restaurant purely because of my Guide Dog. This is not only unacceptable, it is against the law under the Equality Act 2010. Restaurants, taxis, and other service providers cannot refuse entry to someone because they have a Guide Dog. Personal opinions, misconceptions about cleanliness, allergies, or even religious beliefs do not override the legal rights of disabled people. Let’s be clear: People with allergies can take medication. But there is no “medication” for blindness my Guide Dog is essential not a luxury or a pet. What is even more disappointing is that despite multiple attempts to resolve this privately through phone calls, emails, and letters, the restaurant has chosen to ignore all communication. I have now reached a point where I feel this needs to be raised publicly not just for myself, but to help ensure this doesn’t happen to others. All I am asking for is a simple apology and for proper staff training to be put in place to prevent future discrimination.
My go to curry house. Always fresh, tasty and hot. Staff are so attentive, best curry house in Burton.
Good food loved it. Service very good. Value for money. Enjoyed the food. The place is 5 star. My wife loved the prawns. Just need more air freshener when I got home.
Good atmosphere for a din in. Located next door to oldest local pub, close yo town, nice taste of curry, menu vary by price. Clean tables.
