Super authentic food, great welcoming staff. Not licenced but they have arrangement with Devonshire Arms Pub opposite to buy a drink there, and walk to the restaurant, which is 30 seconds walk to next door.
We've been eating here for a few years now and one thing I can say is that the food is consistently good ! The portions are generous, my wife and me share a main and a side and it's more than enough for us. Being allowed to take our own alcohol is great and makes the evening most affordable.
Food is bad. Chicken tastes like it’s been microwaved then thrown in tomato sauce with random spices. Rice is plain with no flavour. Not like a normal tasting Indian either. Won’t be ordering again, even though delivery was quick and it was still hot when it came, the overall flavour is not worth buying.
Had a takeaway last night. £40 for the two of us. The food was not great at all. We've used balti towers for years. The chicken tikka massala was just tomato sauce and the chicken tawa was just scraps of chicken and no taste. Nan breads weren't cooked enough very doughy. Very disappointed.
Best Indian restaurant around! We come in from long eaton and is well worth the drive! The food is lush, it's delicious and authentic and you can ask for the Spice levels to be adjusted without a problem. the staff are friendly, they accommodate young children very well, and you can take your own drinks or go across the road and bring them in from the pub! :) They have the options to have a 4 course meal with poppadoms and pickles, starters, mains and pudding if you wish. We have been going for 20+ years and we are happy to keep going back time again.
